Introduction to Union Construction

This foundational 12-hour program introduces participants to the expectations and realities of working in union construction. Delivered in four three-hour sessions, the curriculum focuses on:

  • Punctuality, attitude, and coachability

  • Reading and math aptitude

  • Measurement and manual skills

  • Physical fitness and safety awareness

  • Comfort with heights and jobsite conditions

Morning and evening sessions ensure accessibility for diverse schedules. This stage also helps identify and address barriers such as transportation challenges, ensuring candidates are fully prepared for the next step.

Intensive Apprenticeship-Readiness Program

Developed in partnership with union tradespeople representing 13 different trades, this 40-hour program equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed for day-one success on the jobsite. Key objectives include:

  • Real-world training for jobsite readiness

  • Clear expectations for union apprenticeships

  • Guidance on available trades and career pathways

  • Increased opportunities for apprenticeship placement

  • Collaboration with unions, contractors, and Joint Apprenticeship Training Committees (JATCs)

The Intensive is offered in three flexible formats throughout the year:

  • Weekday Cohorts: Five consecutive days (Mon–Fri)

  • Weekend Cohorts: Five consecutive Saturdays

  • Evening Cohorts: Ten consecutive weeknights
